Movistar Team leaves Eneco Tour behind after misfortune with crashes; Stybar (OPQ) takes courageous final stage win to claim overall

The 208-kilometer stage seven from Tienen to Geraardsbergen, the hardest stage of the 2013 Eneco Tour over the Flemish climbs -including eleven ‘hellingen’, most notably the Kapelmuur (x3) and the Bosberg (x2)-, crowned Zdenek Stybar (OPQ) as the final winner after proving himself to be the strongest in the final loop, making a solo attack to chase down the lone, final survivor of the day’s original break, Briton Ian Stannard (SKY), and beating him into the uphill finish. The peloton came twenty-five seconds after Stybar, with José Joaquín Rojas at the back after showing attentino into all major splits. The Northern race is over for Movistar Team after all GC chances came down with Alex Dowsett’s withdrawal – Angel Madrazo and Rojas were the best Blues into the hardest stages.
