To the Top (13): Oh captain
28 November 2013

2013 Overview

Pablo Lastras is the soul of this team; the heart of the Spanish peloton. 2014 will be his 18th season within Eusebio Unzué’s squads

Unfortunately, and just like it happened in 2012, an injury avoided him exploting his potential to the end. En route to Castelldefels, on the same day when the Vuelta a España departed from Xavi Tondo’s Valls, ‘Penkas’ suffered a horrible crash that caused him fractures in his shoulder and ribs, missing the end of the season and leaving us all deeply sad.

However, 2013 also saw him shine in the spring, especially during the Giro d’Italia, when he got back into good sensations with that year’s longest break in the Corsa Rosa. The Madrilian is certain to leave us some more smiles in 2014, a true example of commitment and class on and off the bike.
