Lobato, Malori to make their first outing in Movistar Team colours at the Tour Down Under and the Tour de San Luis, the Blues' first races of the year (January 19-26)

Just over thirty days before the start of the 2014 season, the Movistar Team has already defined its selections for their first two races. At the 16th Tour Down Under (Australia, January 21-26), inaugural event of the UCI WorldTour over six stages -including two demanding finishes in Montacute (Thursday 23rd) and the Old Willunga Hill (Saturday 25th)- preceeded by the People’s Choice Classic (Sunday 19th), Javi Moreno will try to repeat his magnificent performance from 2013 -2nd overall- at the helm of a seven-man roster completed by Iván Gutiérrez, Imanol Erviti, Rubén Plaza, José Joaquín Rojas, Giovanni Visconti and newcomer Juanjo Lobato.

At the same time they make Aussie debut, the telephone squad will be back in Argentina for the 8th Tour de San Luis (January 20-26), the most important race in South America, with plenty of mountains in its seven-day route -three mountain-top finishes in the Mirador Potrero, El Amago and the Mirador del Sol on days two, four and six- plus a 19-kilometer TT around the region’s capital. Nairo Quintana will be the biggest amusement of a Blue lineup also featuring Pablo Lastras -after Dayer Quintana’s last-minute absence due to bureaucratic problems-. Andrey Amador, Beñat Intxausti, Fran Ventoso and 2014 signing Adriano Malori.
