In its 35th consecutive season in professional cycling’s top tier, the squad currently known as Movistar Team is celebrating such anniversary by publishing a book that sums up its whole trajectory. Through its 420 pages,Nuestro Ciclismo, por un Equipo (Our Cycling, by a Team) tells the story of one of the most successful sporting teams in Spain, with almost 800 victories including seven overall triumphs in the Tour de France, three in the Vuelta a España and three in the Giro d’Italia, the last one conquered this month by Nairo Quintana.

The book, written and coordinated by David García, includes a foreword by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, plus collaborations from some of the most renowned cycling journalists in the country: Chico Pérez (retired, Ciclismo a Fondo), Sergi López-Egea (El Periódico), Carlos de Andrés (RTVE), Luis Guinea (Diario de Navarra), Carlos Arribas (El País) and Javier Ares (Onda Cero). Words from the most important riders that have built the team’s legend –Miguel Indurain, Pedro Delgado, Alejandro Valverde, Óscar Pereiro, Ángel Arroyo…–, plus sports directors, team staff or journalists who directly witnessed the team’s progression, enrich a book with lots of anecdotes and hundreds of images -many of them never seen- around the birth, development and zenith of a project whose long-standing path has known only five main sponsors: Reynolds, Banesto, Illes Balears, Caisse d’Épargne and Movistar.

Nuestro Ciclismo, por un Equipo is available in a limited, number edition (2,014 copies) at 34.95€, and will be sold in book and department stores across Spain at the end of the month, but can be acquired now online, via Libros de Ruta (www.librosderuta.com) and Movistar Team Shop (www.movistarteamshop.com)
