Italian rider from Katusha wins 95th Milano-Torino as Movistar Team complete quiet prelude to Sunday's Il Lombardia

It was a hard day for the Movistar Team riders in their penultimate European event of the 2014 season, the 95th Milano-Turino. Giampaolo Caruso (KAT) led a ‘russian festival’, with four of the top seven riders from the red team, as several attacks resulted in the favourites’ derail at the second, final Superga ascent.

Ion Izagirre (31st) was the top Blue performer in the prelude race to the final monument of the season, Il Lombardia, over 256km that will set things for final decision in both WorldTour individual and team rankings.
