Contract renewal

Veteran Spanish rider to fulfil his 5th season with Unzué after huge work as domestique throughout the 2014 season

After a 2014 season full of commitment towards team duties -firstly in favour of Nairo Quintana, with whom he conquered the Giro d’Italia, then with Juanjo Lobato, leading out the young Andalusian into the sprints-, Fran Ventoso has extended his contract with the Movistar Team for an additional season. The Spaniard, 32, came close to victory three times early last season -in San Luis (2nd into a stage), the Trofeo Platja de Muro (2nd) and the GP Nobili (3rd)-, later taking a decisive step forward into an 11-year career always specialized on bunch finishes.

It’s been really rewarding for me to see your work appreciated after such a season focused on the squad and my team-mates – less individual results, yet the same effort. I’m really happy with what I did and extremely thankful about this renewal,” sums up Ventoso, the final addition of the Blues’ roster for 2015, composed by 28 riders including four signings: Marc Soler (Lizarte, elite2), Rubén Fernández (Caja Rural-RGA), Winner Anacona (Lampre) and Rory Sutherland (Tinkoff-Saxo).
