UCI Hour Record

Live and exclusive coverage confirmed for Alex Dowsett's attempt to break legendary UCI Hour Record on February 27

Eurosport is partnering with Movistar Team’s British cyclist Alex Dowsett as he attempts the UCI Hour Record on Friday 27 February 2015 at 20:00 CET at London’s Lee Valley VeloPark, the venue for the London 2012 Olympic cycling events. The Essex-based rider’s attempt will take place as part of an exclusive evening of racing and entertainment billed as “The Perfect Hour” (#PerfectHour).

Dowsett, the reigning Commonwealth Games time trial champion and three-time British time trial champion, will try to beat the current mark of 51.852km, recently set by Austrian cyclist Matthias Brändle and shown exclusively on Eurosport. The channel also showed the first of the recent attempts at the hour record, when German cyclist Jens Voigt’s successfully claimed the record in September of 2014.

The Perfect Hour will be broadcast exclusively on Eurosport in all of its 70 markets across Europe and Asia-Pacific. The n°1 pan-European TV channel has also acquired the worldwide sub-licensing rights for the event.

Besides Eurosport’s coverage of every minute of Dowsett’s hour record, the broadcaster’s onsite journalists will interview special guests from 19:45 CET and will get all the reactions immediately after from 21:00 CET.

Eurosport is the Home of Cycling and will broadcast 1800 hours of cycling in 2015 including 450 hours LIVE. The Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a España and the greatest Classics are part of the 23 UCI World Tour races and part of the list of over 40 events broadcast in 2015 on Eurosport.
