Colombian climber from Movistar Team shows calmness and commitment towards Tour de San Luis title defense; 9th edition starts on Monday
"Winning on Argentinian soil in 2014 left me in good spirits for the rest of the season; racing in Latin America is always special and I'm willing to do well here, though we will ride day-by-day – we're calm." Nairo Quintana's word reflected on the feelings by the whole Movistar Team prior to the presentation (Sunday) and official start (stage one to Villa Mercedes, on Monday) of the 9th Tour de San Luis.
The Colombian and all the Blues have trained together during the last week, with good temperatures and a mix of sunny and rainy days, over the same routes they will tackle during the seven-stage course, including the Mirador del Potrero climb, where they tested their legs before the first hilltop finish on Tuesday.
Four climbers -the Quintana brothers, Basque veteran Igor Antón and Catalan Marc Soler, who will make his debut as pro in Argentina- will be joined by two great rouleurs: Adriano Malori and German Jasha Sütterlin, who also has shown decent top speed during his first season in the WorldTour. José Luis Jaimerena's group will be one of the biggest amusements of the biggest cycling event in Latin America.
