Nairo Quintana, Winner Anacona -in his first appearance in Blue colours-, Dayer Quintana all set for Sunday 8 start at Rionegro’s road race
For the first time ever, the Movistar Team’s WorldTour roster will take part in the Colombian road race championships. The Blues’ three local cyclists -brothers Nairo and Dayer Quintana plus recent signing Winner Anacona- will take the start on Sunday, February 8 at the 173km course starting at Medellín. The route ascends through the Alto de la Virgen and includes three laps around Rionegro, with the only short, sharp climb of Salto El Tequendamita on the way to Llano Grande’s finish.
As well as Anacona’s debut with Movistar Team, the race will also be Eusebio Unzué’s squad’s maiden appearance in a country that has brought him many of its success -with the Quintanas’ famous victories- and support in recent years.
