The 2015 Dubai Tour got off to a promising start for the Movistar Team on Wednesday as the Blues showed good compenetration during the 154km stage one in the streets of the emirate's capital. The whole telephone squad directed by José Luis Jaimerena kept focused on Juanjo Lobato's chances, the likes of Castroviejo, Jesús Herrada and Malori keeping him safe into the last 30k and even Alejandro Valverde taking some turns at the front to secure a good position for him.

The final push by EQS and SKY broke their pace in the last 6km, what forced Lobato to recover his place into a more individual effort. The Trebujena-based rider had to start his sprint from behind, yet eventually completing a good performance in 5th spot behind Porsev (KAT), Viviani (SKY), Guardini (AST) and Cavendish (EQS), who won by few milimeters. Lobato will have more chances to improve today's result starting right from tomorrow, with the Palm Jumeirah complex giving end to another flat 187km.
