Andalusian from Movistar Team takes 2nd behind Cavendish (EQS) at Spanish sprinting classic, after support in final splits by Soler, Izagirre and Fernández

Juanjo Lobato (Movistar Team) repeated his second place from 2014 today in the 30th Clásica de Almería, outsprinted by Briton Mark Cavendish (OPQ) at the end of the 186km Andalusian race. The Trebujena-based rider, really attentive into the 60-rider group that stood the splits late in the race, into the descent of the Alto de Lucainena (Cat-2), found support in three of the riders directed by José Luis Arrieta: Marc Soler -the Catalan neo-pro rode once again remarkably-, Rubén Fernández and Ion Izagirre.

The control by Etixx into the final circuit avoided Lobato's win, the Spaniard mixed between Cavendish and lead-out man Mark Renshaw in a bunch kick preluding the chances he will enjoy in his home race. The whole Movistar Team heads right today to the 61st Vuelta a Andalucía – Ruta del Sol, after claiming their 15th podium of the 2015 season in southern Spain.
