Tour de France (first rest day)

Movistar Team receives Tissot and MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo in calm day for Blues in Andorra; Nairo Quintana (4th overall) and Eusebio Unzué speak to the press before race resumes on Tuesday

Two events gathered all attention from the Movistar Team into the first rest day of the 2016 Tour de France, which the Blues enjoyed at the AnyósPark Hotel in La Massana, Andorra.

In the morning, other than the traditional reception to the customers of our friends from Thomson Bike Tours, official partner of the team-, Tissot made possible a unique encounter between Nairo Quintana, fourth overall in the 'Grande Boucle' and still a main candidate for the win, and Jorge Lorenzo, several times MotoGP world champion. The Spanish rider switched his Movistar Yamaha for a bicycle he used to climb alongside our riders -including some Blues out of the TDF lineup, such as José Joaquín Rojas or Antonio Pedrero- to the same finish in Arcalís where the Tour convoy flew under hailstorm on Sunday.

Later in the afternoon, Quintana himself and Movistar Team manager Eusebio Unzué spoke to several dozens of journalists in a packed press conference prior to the race restart on Tuesday. Stage 10, 197km between Escaldes-Engordany and Revel, will include a demanding, initial ascent towards the 2,408m Port d'Envalira (Cat-1), the highest point of the race, followed by a long escent into the Haute-Garonne and the Côte de Saint-Ferréol (Cat-3), just 7km from the finish.
