Vuelta a España (second rest day)

Joined by rider Aleix Espargaró and endurance driver Roberto Merhi, Nairo Quintana and the Movistar Team cover their two appointments of the final Vuelta a España rest day in the morning, with a training ride and a press conference before action resumes atop Mas de la Costa on Wednesday

Nairo Quintana and the Movistar Team are enjoying a well-deserved final Vuelta a España rest day at their hotel in Villarreal, Castellón, following an intense morning of activities.

Together with MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró and local star Roberto Merhi (World Endurance Championship), the telephone squad covered around 60km, including the climb of Eslida, before getting back for the traditional press conference, where race leader Nairo spoke to the media alongside general manager Eusebio Unzué (audio, in Spanish).

The Vuelta will continue on Wednesday with the penultimate mountainous stage, a demanding 178km from Castellón that include the Desierto de las Palmas (Cat-2), Sarratella (Cat-2), Benasal (Cat-3) and a tremendous finish at the Mas de la Costa (Cat-1; 3.8km at 12.5% avg).
