Movistar Team warms up over 38km course set to open Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana on Wednesday. Dowsett, Bennati take 19th, 20th at Dubai's opening sprint
Just over 24 hours before the first 2017 stagerace kicks off for Nairo Quintana, the José Luis Jaimerena-led Movistar Team at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana rolled together before the 38km TTT course that will open fire in eastern Spain. A test near the terrains they'll tackle on Wednesday and also some of the new materials -including the Abus time trial helmet- the Blues will use in the Alicante province.
In turn, the eight-man group directed by Chente García Acosta also started their participation in the Dubai Tour on Tuesday, unscathed after the 181km between the emirate's capital and the Palm Jumeirah complex. Marcel Kittel (QST) netted a bunch sprint where Alex Dowsett and Daniele Bennati finished 19th and 20th, respectively.
