Movistar Team remains close to top WorldTour specialists, repeats results from Doha (2016), Ponferrada ('14) and Valkenburg ('12) in Bergen Worlds at just over 1' from winners Sunweb

For the sixth time in as many appearances, the Movistar Team finished inside the top-ten of the World Championships TTT, held this time over a tough 42.5km course from Ravnanger to Bergen in southwest Norway.

The telephone squad – featuring Erviti, Sütterlin, Amador, Castroviejo, Izagirre and Dowsett – finished in 6th place, 1'19" behind new world champions Team Sunweb, after slightly improving over the second half of the course following a 7th quickest time through the first time check, 10.5km in.

The three-kilometer climb to Birkelundsbakken allowed the squad managed by Eusebio Unzué overtaking LottoNL-Jumbo, a duel they kept over the last ten k's and eventually came in favour of the Blues – by just 35 hundredths of a second.

Orica, Quick Step, Sky (bronze) and BMC (silver) subsequently bested, together with the winners, the time of a Movistar Team whose riders will now stay with their national teams for Wednesday's individual time trial and next Sunday's road race.
