Bico into stage three break

Tour of Guangxi (et. 3)

Young Portuguese rider in the lead for 70km on yet another sprinting fest in Guangxi; close to GC top-ten before Sunday’s Mashan Nongla hilltop finish.

It’s so far been Fernando Gaviria’s (QST) party at the Tour of Guangxi, whose three bunch sprints up to date have seen the Colombian dominating his opposition, another proof at Saturday’s circuit race in Nanning (125km, four laps).

The Movistar Team had a relevant role in the beginning of the stage thanks to their most active rider in this race, Nuno Bico. The young Portuguese went into a 70km break alongside Jack Haig (ORS) and Daniel Oss (BMC), which Nuno profited from to take two bonus seconds that put him into 15th overall (+28″).

Bico was actually, once again, the top Movistar Team finisher (23rd) into a finish preceeding the decisive, hilltop finish at the Mashan Nongla scenic spot on Sunday. The 151km stage four from the province’s capital -venue for the past two days in the Chinese race- will end with three kilometers of 6% average slopes, including a starting thousand meters at around 10% gradient.
