Short training camp

Ten riders from Telefónica-backed squad to enjoy high-performance facility in Manacor before starting Mallorca Challenge on Thursday

While two other Movistar Team expeditions fulfil their racing appointments in Argentina and Australia, ten riders of the Eusebio Unzué-managed squad -Valverde, Landa, Rosón, Valls, Bennati, Rojas, Carretero, Erviti, Arcas and Amador– headed to the Balearic Islands to train around the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre in Mallorca, a high-performance center supported by Telefónica.

It’s already the second time the Blues use the facility in barely two months, after their first-ever Training Camp with sportive riders was also held there back in November.

The Blues will compete a handful of training rides in the island through Wednesday -when they will move to Palma before starting the 2018 Mallorca Challenge– while they enjoy the outstanding level of comfort and technical resources available in the Manacor complex.

The Movistar Team also took advantage of their stay to pay a visit to the Museum Xperience on Sunday evening. The space, just next to the Sports Centre and academy, combined an exposition zone with plenty of souvenirs from the world of sport and many amusements for visitors, which include experiences with virtual reality of sports simulation.
