Movistar Team with full team in Colombia for the first time

Local star to be biggest highlight of first-ever edition of UCI 2.1 race, a six-day event starting on Tuesday 6th February.

Nairo Quintana will start his 2018 season at the new professional race his country will be holding next week. The Colombia Oro y Paz (UCI 2.1) will be the first stop for the Boyacá native, leading the Movistar Team through its six days of racing from Tuesday 6th to Sunday 11th February,

Alongside Nairo will be his brother Dayer and Winner Anacona, the Blues thus bringing three locals to the biggest international event in Colombia this season. They will be joined by Antonio Pedrero, Víctor de la Parte and Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz, with Eusebio Unzué and Pablo Lastras as sports directors.

The Colombia Oro y Paz will start with three sprinter’s stages before heading into the mountains on Friday -finishing at El Tambo (Cat-3)-, Saturday -a demanding hilltop finish in Salento- and Saturday’s Queen stage, over the slopes of Torre Chipre (19km long, 9% gradients in final part).
