A race of tough extremes: Soler shines in his first appearance as Erviti works hard to keep up – overshadowed by Oliveira’s injury and Belgian youngster Michael Goolaerts’s passing.

Imanol Erviti and Nuno Bico were able to reach the Velodrome on the bike, something which most notably two riders could not do: our own Nelson Oliveira -admitted to a hospital in Roubaix seven hours after his right-hand collarbone fracture, before the first cobbled sector- and Flemish young rider Goolaerts, affected by a cardiac arrest during the race. We take a look to a tremendously hard day for everyone at the ‘Queen of the Classics’, with pictures from Luca Bettini and Dario Belingheri of the agency.
