Male Team 27 - 29 Apr
Vuelta Asturias
460 Kilometers 3 Stages
The Aramo cycling club has proposed a route basically identical for the 2018 Vuelta a Asturias compared to last year’s. That means each and every of the three stages will be interesting: mountains galore, terrain for attacks and full responsibility on the GC riders. The Movistar Team, traditionally considered a top climbing group, will try, just like in every season, to chase a good overall result.
Pola de Lena will be the finish on stage one (Friday 27th April), with already lumpy terrain as three Cat-3 climbs are tackled from the start, continuing with a difficult final circuit which includes three ascents to Carabanzo (Cat-3), the latter containing 10% slopes over 2km. Saturday 28th will bring the Queen stage, with five climbs and the grueling, finishing Alto del Acebo (Cat-1; 10km at 8%). And to finish things off (Sunday 29th), a really short (119km), intense route back to Oviedo, with El Violeo (Cat-2) just before the end.
