Wins prize as world’s best rider in 2018

World Champion from Movistar Team recognized by international press, 25 years after first winner Miguel Indurain

A picture for the history books. The end of the technical meeting held by the Movistar Team in Pamplona this week was crowned by the Blues to get two geniuses of bike racing which now share the most prestigious individual prize in the sport: the Vélo d’Or, handed out by Vélo Magazine.

Miguel Indurain, winner in 1992 and 1993, and Alejandro Valverde, the most voted rider by renowned press members in 2018, have posed for a picture featuring the two riders who earned these honours while members of Eusebio Unzué’s organisation. Two symbols of the legacy and sport of a squad which will fulfil its 40th year of activity in 2019.
