Vuelta a Castilla y León
502 Kilometers 3 Stages
The 34th edition of the Vuelta a Castilla y León, held on the roads next to the Camino de Santiago, will again rule out any TTs or mountain-top finishes and rely on crosswinds, attacks and bonus seconds to decide a race open to many different rider types – even the sprinters.
A flat opening stage in the Burgos province -181km from Belorado to Castrojeriz, on Thursday 25th- will preceed another wind-exposed, sprinter-suited day two in the so-called Tierra de Campos (‘Land of Fields’) in Palencia, finishing in Villada on Friday 26th.
The race will end on Saturday 27th -there won’t be a Sunday showdown, since the Spanish general election is held in the 28th- in the Bierzo area, climbing to Foncebadón (Cat-2) and Onamio (Cat-3) before a rolling final circuit around Villafranca.
