Analysis

The Movistar Team will be making its debut in the ASDA Tour of Yorkshire Women’s Race, an event well known for its immense crowds, beautiful landscapes, challenging routes though open to both puncheurs and strong sprinters, and top competitive level despite not being a UCI Women’s WorldTour race. No better place lo leave the classics behind and start a long series of stageraces which will lead the Blues to the end of their season in September.

The least hard of the two stages will be the inaugural one on Friday 3rd, from Barnsley to Bedale, with just one rated climbs puntuable (Lindley; 1500m at 7.4%) and an interesting lap around the 2019 Worlds course in Harrogate. Quite touher will be the showdown on Saturday 4th, from Bridlington to Scarborough and through the côtes of Silpho, Hooks House Farm, Lyrhe Bank (1200m at 10%) and, quite close together around thirty kilometers from the end, the ‘wall’ of Grosmont (500m at 15%) and Ugglebarnby (1900m, 8.7%).
