Extends contract with Telefónica-backed squad for next year
One of Blues’ most solid assets in the second part of 2019 to keep wearing the Spanish outfit’s jersey next season.
The Movistar Team confirmed Tuesday that Eduardo Sepúlveda (Rawson, Chubut, ARG; 1991) will continue to wear its colours for a third consecutive season in 2020, having signed a one-year extension with Eusebio Unzué’s squad.
Sepúlveda has proven his quality and commitment for most of the 2019 season, valued which granted him a well-earned WorldTour spot last year. The Argentinian came just 20″ short to claiming overall honours in the Tour of Austria -he was 2nd in the GC, with good performances in the mountains stages- and contributed to good results from his leaders at tough stageraces in the summer, such as the Vuelta a Burgos or the Tour of Britain.
Eduardo will take part this week at the time trial (Wed) and road race (Sun) events of the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire (UK), his fourth Worlds appearance within the elite ranks.
