Tirreno-Adriatico (finale)

Catalan rider from Movistar Team just twelve seconds off Yates' (BEX) tenth place at 'Due Mari' after good performance on Sunday put him into top board contention.

It was a comfortable overall win for Tadej Pogacar (UAD) at the 2021 Tirreno-Adriático, coming to its close on Tuesday over the traditional 10km ITT in and around San Benedetto del Tronto, narrowly won by GC second-placed Wout van Aert (TJV).

The Movistar Team completed its participation at the ‘Course of the Two Seas’ with Nelson Oliveira, already 5th yesterday at the winning break in Lido di Fermo, again as top performer in this ITT, 17th (+36″ from the Belgian). In turn, Marc Soler finished in 11th overall, taking two seconds back on Simon Yates (BEX), yet unable to overtake the Briton, whom he was contesting a top-ten finish.

The Blues’ men’s squad will be back in action on Saturday with the ‘Classicissima’, Milano-Sanremo, the first monument of 2021.
