Male Team 20 Mar
Milano-Sanremo
299 Kilometers
The race will be broadcast in full. There will be live pictures on Eurosport Player, with Eurosport 1 starting at 12.45pm CET.
The ‘Classicissima’ comes back in 2021 to its spring slot -held in August last year- with a route slightly different to the traditional one, as the Passo del Turchino couldn’t be used for this year’s race. It’s a slightly less hilly route -clearly less demanding than last year’s, held almost entirely in the interior-, yet the length of the race remains as imposing as ever: 299 kilometers, this time under the 300km barrier overcome in 2020.
After climbing through the Colle del Giovo (172km), which replaces the Turchino, the race will roll by the Riviera Ligure to take on the famous little climbs called ‘Capi’ -Mele (247km), Cervo (252km) and Berta (260km)-, with its increasing difficulty, before the two decisive climbs. The Cipressa (277km; 5.6km at 4.1%), always covered at full speed, usually creates a first selection which continues at the flat section afterwards, with attacks leading up to the decisive Poggio (293km; 3.7km at 3.7%), where the crucial moves happen before the finish at the Via Roma.
