The Colombian cyclist, one of the emerging promises of South American cycling, officially joins the team from August 15.

Kevin Castillo will temporarily strengthen the ranks of the Navarre-based squad during the final part of the 2025 season. His arrival reflects the team’s commitment to continue promoting young talent and offering development opportunities at the highest level of professional cycling.
The Marsellan has already met his new teammates after joining Movistar Team’s preseason training camp in Valencia last December.
Recently, Castillo competed in the Vuelta a Colombia, finishing third in stages 7 and 8, and closing his participation with a 13th place overall in the general classification.
Kevin David Castillo: “I’m very happy to join Movistar Team for the rest of the season. It’s a great joy to be part of the most historic team in cycling, and it fills me with pride to be here. We will give our best in the upcoming races and hope to do very well. My thanks to the entire Movistar Team for this opportunity.”

Starting today, the rider joins the squad led by Eusebio Unzué. In addition, he will take part in selected competitions on the European calendar with the aim of continuing his development in a high-performance environment. His signing as a stagiaire will allow the team to assess firsthand his adaptation to the demands of the WorldTour peloton
With this addition, Movistar Team reaffirms its commitment to developing young talent, especially in Latin America — a region historically linked to the team’s DNA.
Kevin Castillo thus joins the tradition of Colombian cyclists who have left their mark on the blue squad, bringing with him the excitement of taking his first steps at the highest level of professional cycling.
