Bretagne Classic - Plouay
256.9 Kilometers
It’s the third time in which the formerly-known-as Grand Prix de Plouay will be held as a point-to-point race, the traditional circuit from the 2000 World Road Race Championships limited to just one lap of 14.9 kilometers. The course in Brittany, one of the longest in the entire season at 256km, is still, normally played out into a group sprint, even if the strongest squads have to make big efforts into the hilly final loop to keep things under control.
The côtes of Cadoudal (61 + 143km), St-Avé (130km) and Guénin (184km) are the toughest points of a winding parcours which will feature no less than six ascents in its final hour of racing: Bois de Kerlucas (-29 / -8km), Kerihuel (-20km), Lezot (-12) and the double, decisive climb of Ty-Marrec, whose last summit is crested just 4.1km from another slightly uphill kick to the finishing line.
