Magenta - Colle Superga (200km)
10 October

Analysis

Alejandro Valverde will continue with his Italian autumn tournée in the rainbow jersey with the longest-standing -yet not the one with the most editions- race in the European calendar (1876), which also marks the start of the late-season racing calendar by RCS Sport, organisers of the Giro d’Italia.

Once again, the Milano-Torino race will focus all of its interest on the climbs to the Basilica di Superga, a five-kilometer ascent at 9% average gradient, tackled twice into the last 25km.

The 200km course will start from Magenta, west of Lombardy’s capital, with a series of little climbs halfway through the race leading the riders to Turin for the last two climbs. The first ascent will be shorter (just over 4km) before entering the descent leading up to the final Superga climb.
