Analysis

An innovative format opens the door of the Volta a Catalunya to the ladies from the UCI, Spanish and Catalan circuits. The #reVolta is an event ranked into the Catalan Cycling Federation series calendar, which offers the girls a chance to compete inside a demanding course -approximately half of the circuit covered by the men just few hours later- in the ‘Magic Mountain’ of Montjuïc, on the same Sunday the first Spanish WorldTour event in 2018 is held there.

It will be a 3.85km loop, the race designed to last for 45 minutes plus one lap. The first half of the most demanding climb in the men’s circuit will be covered -all the way up to the junction of the Santa María Madrona street with the Estadi avenue-, before turning right to head into a slight descent, leaving the Olympic Stadium behind and entering the same finishing straight as for the men’s race, in the Rius i Taulet avenue.
