Analysis

There won’t be any chances to the route of the Klasika Primavera in 2019, the event from grassroots racing host SC Amorebieta reaching its 65th edition as the end of the biggest week of cycling in northern Spain. The race in Amorebieta has also seen the Movistar Team winning six of the last seven times it’s been held, a streak the Blues will try to extend.

The 171.6km parcours around the town known as Zornotza (in Basque) are divided into a first half, around hundred kilometers, of flattish roads, followed by a more demanding second part. Riders will tackle three climbs each to Muniketa / Montecalvo (4km, 6%) and Autzagane (2km, 5%), hills that usually see many moves into its final two laps and don’t make easy for a sprint to happen: the last climb is finished with just 5km remaining.
