Analysis

The Movistar Team is back in Belgium, one week after its last races to date in Flanders, to start over with with their ‘Road to De Ronde’ with a race, the Brugge – De Panne Classic -formerly known as Driedaagse-, where winds are the absolute star of the show.

The sprinters will have to work their chances even more so than at other races over this tough course, which actually doesn’t feature any cobblestones. It’s a 158km event, almost at the upper limit of the UCI regulations, with an early 50km point-to-point course followed by 2 1/2 laps over a circuit which combined urban areas, always technical and dangerous, with wind-exposed zones

It’s always difficult at De Moeren, an area where gusts really strike the peloton and force all times to ride attentively due to the echelon risk. Pure ‘Northern’ cycling.
