Analysis

A welcomed break from the classics period the WWT peloton is fully immersed into during the months of March and April, the 2nd Vuelta a Extremadura will see the Movistar Team make its debut on the region’s roads, over three short, very intense stages in the far west of its home country.

The sprinters should have a chance at the end of stage one (Friday 8th), from Nuñomoral to Coria, before a hilly, nervous, shortened day (Saturday 9th) towards Guadalupe. The GC will be decided into a 17km ITT, with an initial uphill section, in Zafra, Sunday 10th March.
