Clásica de Almería
192.5 Kilometers
Even if it might seem too strange for occasional cycling viewers, the Clásica de Almería has always gambled -and found an increasingly better response- on offering a chance for the sprinters on Spanish soil, the land of climbers. Its 32nd edition will insist on that idea, as all of its mountainous difficulties will be located in the first half of its 192km course from Almería to Roquetas de Mar.
Cuesta Blanca (Cat-3), Lucainena (Cat-4), Balcón de Sierra Alhamilla (Cat-3) and, most importantly, Turrillas (Cat-2) will be the climbs to face before riding back to Almería and seek for more coastal, wind-exposed roads before the last circuit -two laps- in Roquetas, a loop already known by most riders where the sprinters’ trains will be able to develop their work untroubled.
