Analysis

The pre-Worlds ‘tournée’ in Italy -the only country the Movistar Team will be racing in during their last month of competition- is taking the Blues to the Emilia-Romagna region for the 16th edition of the Memorial Pantani, a route full of hills which nevertheless comes down to a sprint of a short field most times.

The ascents of Bivio Sadurano (22km), Rocca delle Caminate (36km) and Monte Cavallo (km 56) and the three climbs to Montevecchio -the final one crested 62 kilometers before the end- preceed a short, straight circuit in Cesenatico, the hometown of ‘Il Pirata’, with four laps of completely flat roads.
