Analysis

The women’s Movistar Team gets back on the road after the Giro Rosa and the World Championships with the first of the two Ardennes classics. The Flèche Wallonne is getting closer to its ‘silver jubilee’ with a big change for 2020: live broadcast due to the new guidelines established by the UCI Women’s WorldTour (a demand not satisfied by other events, though).

The 124km course in Belgium features a new climb, the Chemin des Gueuses (1.8km at 6.5% average), which replaces the Côte de Cherave. The new ascent will be crested twice, ten kilometers from the finish atop the Mur de Huy (1.3km at 9.3%), as part of a circuit which also contains the Côte d’Ereffe (2.2km at 6%).
