Analysis

The Movistar Team will be immediately back to racing after the National Championships across Europe, coming back to the Lotto Belgium Tour after three years of absence. Their exciting debut (2018) in the race saw the Blues leading a GC for the first time in their history, with Aude Biannic winning the prologue, which means this event holds a special place in the team’s heart.

The women’s Tour of Belgium will again feature an ITT, a short (4km), yet intense prologue in Chimay, with some 4-5% slopes early on (Tuesday 22nd). Three road stages will follow after that, with a fast, flat stage one in Brugge (Wednesday 23rd) over the cobblestones of Oude Sluissedijk; the climbs of Steenhoutberg and Congoberg and two cobbled sectors (Blijkheerstraat y Schavoliestraat) in Galmaarden on Thursday 24th; and the brutal, legendary Kapelmuur / Bosberg loop in Geraardsbergen on Friday 25th – note that the finish is on top of the Muur!
