Analysis

Anna van der Breggen has dominated the Flèche Wallonne in recent times, with no less than six consecutive victories since 2015. Will this be the year when this streak ends? That will be the goal of the Movistar Team and all squads present at one of the most traditional WorldTour events, held already for 24 years and featuring a very characteristic finish up the Mur de Huy (1.3km at 9%).

The 130km race -the distance has been increased significantly in the past few years- features eight categorized climbs, including four in the final circuit: the two ascents of Huy, the Côte d’Ereffe (2.1km at 5.6%) and the Côte du Chemin des Gueuses (1.9km at 6,7%), prior to a finish which could be contested into a sprint, a selected group – or maybe decided beforehand with a solo action!
