Analysis

The duo of Canadian WorldTour events comes to its end with arguably the hardest race of the two, even more so since 2019, the last edition to date, when some length was added to the GP Montréal to take it over 220km. The official elevation gain figure is 4,800m, which makes it one of the most demanding races -both one-day events or Grand Tour stages- in the whole UCI calendar.

It’s 18 laps of a 12.3km course with four ascents: Camilien-Houde (or Mont-Royal), the main one, over 1.8km at 8%; La Polytechnique, 800m at 6%; the Pagnuelo slope, 500m at 7.5%; and the finish in the Avenue du Parc, 560m at 4%.
