Analysis

At Lissone, the town where Alejandro Valverde climbed for the penultimate time onto the podium of a professional race with his 2nd-place finish in 2022, the last European ‘tournée’ of the Movistar Team for 2023 will kick off with the 76th Coppa Agostoni.

It’s a very demanding race to start it, with 196km comprising an initial, 70km point-to-point course, including the climb of Sirtori (1.6km at 5%), and four laps of a circuit also featuring the ascents of Colle Brianza (3km at 6.5%) and Lissolo (2.4km at 7.5%). The last of those will be overcome with 35km to go.
