Analysis

Coming back to take out a grudge held with the race? Not really – that’s not Annemiek van Vleuten’s mentality, rather than shining at every event she’s part of. However, coming so close to a Huy win in 2022 will surely motivate the World Champion to offer some of her best spring highlights in 2023 at the Flèche Wallonne.

Three times -with 75 and 37km to go, plus the finish- will the 1,300m at 9.6% of this famous finish in women’s cycling (26th edition in 2023) be crested this year. At the final circuit, the riders will also have to twice tackle the Côte d’Ereffe (2.1km at 5%) and Cherave (1.3km at 8.1%), the last one with less than 6km remaining.
