Analysis

Talk about an eclectic race! The Gran Piemonte has recently combined routes suited to the sprinters -like the one which saw Iván García Cortina surged to an unexpected success in 2022-  with those good for climbers and classics specialists, such as in 2023, where the riders will also be facing an usually short event.

It will be just 152 kilometers, yet including four interesting ascents on its second half: Colleretto Castelnuovo (-57km); Faiallo (-47km); the most demanding Alpette (4.8km at 8.3%), to be crested just 31km from the end; and Prascorsano (its toughest part, 2.7km at 5%), complete with just 17 kilometers to go.
