Route

Ieper / Ypres - Wevelgem (260.9km)
26 March

Analysis

A long day in the saddle (more than 260km), with cobbles, hills, gravel roads and lots of demanding sections, just seven days away from ‘De Hoogmis’, the biggest party in Flemish cycling. Gent-Wevelgem has removed in its 2023 parcours, however, the cobbled ascents -such as the Mont Cassel- they previously used on the other side of the French border, though the rest of its elements remain intact for this 85th edition.

The route includes three climbs of the demanding Kemmelberg -from two different roads; 2x the Belvèdere and once through the demanding Ossuaire, also crucial as it’s located just 34km from the end-, as well as 2x the Monteberg and the Baneberg and also three ‘Plugstreets’, gravel sectors connecting trenches from World War I, placed about 70km before the finish.
