Analysis

The 8th edition of the Setmana Valenciana will mark the Movistar Team’s first stagerace on European soil in 2024. There’s always interesting terrain over its four stages, with no time trials and every meter of action set to bring surprises – just like in 2023, when the race was only decided over the last finish line.

The traditional ascents of Barxeta (Cat-4) and Barx (Cat-2) towards Gandía will bring the first selection (Thursday 15th), the race then travelling to the Castellón province on day two (Friday 16th) to climb Ahín (Cat-2) and Eslida (Cat-2) towards La Vall’s finish.

Saturday 17th will see the riders take on the Queen stage in Alicante, over the Collao (Cat-3), Carrasqueta (Cat-1) and Canalís de Onil (Cat-3) before the brutal slopes of Xorret de Catí (HC; 4km at 11%, max 22%). The showdown on Sunday 18th includes the Oronet (Cat-3) with 31km from the last finish in Valencia.
