Analysis

The last opportunity in the women’s calendar to the climbers in four weeks will happen in Italy on Sunday 17th March, with one of the longest-standing events, the Trofeo Binda, closing in on its golden jubilee (48th edition). The main new feature for 2024 is that the final circuit in Cittiglio gains even more protagonism, with five local laps instead of the four taken a year prior.

The initial point-to-point section from Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca, next to the beautiful lakes in northern Lombardy, is thus reduced as the peloton quickly faces the decisive hills. The main ascents are Casale, 800m at 9%, and Orino, divided into two sectors, with its second half presenting 1.5km at 6.5% average gradient.
