Analysis

Following the ‘break’ that meant the Vuelta a Extremadura on home soil -and with yet one other race left out of the country, the Trofeo Binda, on Sunday 17th-, the Movistar Team will again set its sights in Belgium and race the Nokere Koerse, whose 127km include around twenty cobbled sectors, ten categorized ascents and the usual nerves that feature in every Flemish event.

The race comprises an opening long loop, with the ascents of Lange Ast (400m at 5%, cobbled), Hellestraat, Holstraat, Petegemberg and Fabriekstraat, and a double local lap (31.3km for each passsage), which combines Lange Ast and some cobbles with the Nokereberg (three ascents; 350m at 7%), an urban, cobbled climb, symbol of the race, where the finish is set, making for one of the most demanding, spectacular sprints in every season.
