Dwars door Vlaanderen
117.7 Kilometers
Once again, the Movistar Team’s ladies will share roads with the Blue guys in another event from the Flanders Classics. Dwars door Vlaanderen isn’t part of the Women’s WorldTour (it’s a UCI 1.1 race), plus its routes don’t contain big hills until the final 40km, yet it will still be a tough course, with five ascents and three cobbled sections, just four days before the Tour of Flanders on Sunday 1st April.
The Kluisberg (77km) and the Knokteberg (84km) will create a first real selection together with the long ‘pavé’ sector of Varent (92km), after which the final difficulties will be pretty much closer together. The Vossenhol (97km), the Holstraat (101km) and the cobbled hill of Nokereberg (109km, nine k’s to go) will decide, combined with the closing kassei of Herlegemstraat (111km), a race where stress, narrow roads and strong winds will again play its part.
