Everything set for the Mont Faron

Movistar Team conserves all their chances in the 38th Tour Méditerranéen after the fourth stage of the French race, over 155 kilometers from La Londe les Maures to Biot, was ridden today. The riders directed by Yvon Ledanois were again on the move as Spaniard Enrique Sanz went only a handful of kilometers too short to contest the victory after a long breakaway.

The Spanish neo-pro from Movistar Team spent more than 130 kilometers as head of the race along with Roux (FDJ) and Bacon (BGM), his attempt having a 2-minute gap under the 20-kilometer banner and only getting caught -led by Roux- after the escapees got wrongly directed in an intersection already into the final kilometer slope. Race leader Romain Feillu (VCD) profited from the situation to impose his power and snatch his third victory in a row.

Minimal differences between the main contenders to the victory keep Movistar Team climbers on the fight, as the ‘Tour Med’ will be sorted out in an exciting closer tomorrow over the longest route in the race. 165 kilometers from Biot to the Cat. 1 Mont Faron, preceeded by the Cat. 2 Col du Gratteloup, 60 kilometers from the finish, will see the riders fight until the arrival to Toulon marks the ending point of the French stagerace.
