Quintana looking to fight within world's best climbers in Emirati race, following winning debut in Comunitat Valenciana; Movistar Team again in two fronts as they return to Volta ao Alentejo

Looking forward to keeping their winning momentum after success in all Valencia, Murcia and Andalucía, the Movistar Team divides its forces into two fronts again this week in Portugal and the Middle East. At the 3rd Abu Dhabi Tour, a four-day contest (Thursday 23 – Sunday 26) upgraded to the UCI WorldTour for 2017, Chente García Acosta will command an eight-man roster led by Nairo Quintana. Jorge Arcas, Daniele Bennati, Alex Dowsett, Imanol Erviti, Rubén Fernández, Jesús Herrada and Jasha Sütterlin complete the lineup for a race mostly suited to sprinters, yet certain to be decided at the slopes of Jebel Hafeet (12km, 6% avg.), closing point of stage three on Saturday 25.

In turn, a second team directed by José Luis Jaimerena and José Luis Laguía will prolonge their stay in Portugal to take part in the 35th Volta ao Alentejo (Wednesday 22 – Sunday 26), the squad managed by Eusebio Unzué back in the region after a ten-year absence. For this five-day contest, full of uphill finishes in oterwise rolling roads, Adriano Malori, Andrey Amador, Antonio Pedrero, Carlos Barbero, Héctor Carretero, Nelson Oliveira, Nuno Bico and Richard Carapaz will fly the Blue flag.
