Lotto Ladies Tour (finale)

Extremely consistent performance by Polish rider awards Movistar Team improving their Bira result with decent final TT in Schmölln.

Lisa Brennauer (WHT) claimed back-to-back overall wins in the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour after claiming 2nd place, behind Ellen Van Dijk (SUN), in the 18km TT showdown around Schmölln.

The route of this final day of racing in Germany, a mixture of uphill slopes and fast, technical sections with long straights, required once again a top effort from Malgorzata Jasinska in the most difficult speciality for her. The Polish rider finished exactly two minutes behind Van Dijk, and despite losing three places overall against strong time trialists, ‘Jasi’ was able to grab another GC top-ten: 8th, two places better than her 10th spot in the recent Emakumeen Euskal Bira.

The Movistar Team, which had Aude Biannic -14th, 1’45” after Van Dijk- as top performer of the day, has completed a very decent performance in Germany against strong WorldTour outfit, claiming top-ten finishes in six of the seven stages and even coming close to a victory with Jasinska in Dörtendorf (3rd) on Friday.
